Roxanne Lee Marcell On January 8, 2013 she lost her long battle with emphysema. She was born the only daughter of Fred M. and Erma (Olson) Hill on April 15, 1951. Her mother preceded her in death in February 2003. She graduated from West Iron County High School in 1969 and resided in Iron River, MI all her life. She married her best friend, Gary, on January 27, 2001. She worked various jobs but spent the last 20 years working at Lakeshore/OGI. Preceded in death by her dear friends; Judy (Pond) Lekatz, June Brooks and Jayne (Waino) Swanson. She will be forever missed by her husband, Gary; daughters, Leigh Ann (Ryan) Carton with granddaughter, Ainsleigh and Michelle (Mark) Shamion with granddaughter, Paige and great granddaughter, Leena; step-daughters, Stacey (Brian) Bushey with grandchildren, Emily, Grace and Alex and Brandi (Shawn) Kujala with granddaughters, Olivia and Abigail; brother, Harry H. (JoAnn) Hill with nieces and nephews, April, Amber, Angie, Spencer, Wes, and Wyatt and brother, Fred (Rusty) Hill and extended family. In the early years, Roxanne enjoyed riding horses, gardening, bow hunting and singing karaoke. She also participated in 15 years of bowling leagues where she won many awards. Later in life, she took up golf where she spent many days laughing on the course with her husband. Her most favorite way to spend her time was with her family as well as playing cards with her good friend, Carol Pond. Roxanne will be eternally grateful to her physicians; Dr. Carl Smoot (Primary Pulmonary Care, Iron Mountain, MI) for his diligent care and patience for 15 years and Dr. Robert Han (Iron River, MI) for taking on her case when her health prevented her from traveling. His attentive, personalized concern for her extended her life way beyond her expectations. Please join us for an afternoon of remembrance on Friday, January 11, 2013, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
