Mrs. Florence Nikkinen Age 86 Beechwood, MI passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2007 at Evergreen Heights, Kingsford, MI. Born May 19, 1920 in Gaastra, MI The daughter of the late Solindo and Maria (Davoli) Tersi attended the Palatka schools in Gaastra, MI. Florence married Michael Eberle Jr. on June 11, 1944, and he preceded her in death on October 7, 1947. She married Toivo Nikkinen on July 16, 1949 and the couple made their home in Beechwood, celebrating their 34th Wedding Anniversary in 1983. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1984. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary and the Mothers Club of Beechwood. She was also preceded in death by five sisters, Rose Clark, Louise Atanasoff, Caroline Harkins, Verna Evanoff, and Mary Trattles, and one brother, Nino Tersi. She is survived by her daughter, Carole (Tom) Wills, Waukegan, IL Two grandchildren, Jason, Beach Park, IL Cory (Annie), Antioch, IL Two great granddaughters, Alyssa and Gracie The family of Florence Nikkinen will greet friends from 1:30 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, MI. A Memorial Service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Peter Carli, Bereavement Hospice Coordinator, Iron Mountain, to officiate.
