#1 Jim Masur 2011-11-06 07:30 Laura took my wife Liz and I under her wing shortly after we moved to Iron River in 1985. She helped me get my law career going, and us get acquainted Around town. She really made an effort to have Iron River feel like our home. She had a wonderful sense of always trying to help others get a leg up, and was responsible for many getting their financial footing. She continued to show kindness to our family after we moved away in 1988, all the way through this year. Every Christmastime, when we returned, she would give us dozens of Christmas cookies when we took her to lunch at the Depot. Liz and I will mess her a lot. Quote

#2 Michelle Kolbas 2011-11-07 01:18 Laura and I worked together at Angeli's for so many years. Her energy and sincere love of people was infectious. She had an energy few young people have enven then. As my children were growing up they always looked forward to Laura's baked treats and the secrets she would sometimes put in them. A smile was hard to hold back when you would see her. My love to Laura and my sincere sympathy for her family. Quote

#5 Ray and Karen Laakaniemi 2011-11-07 08:18 My Dad was member #9 in the credit union. We were also members for a number of years. That was more than 40 years ago, almoxt 50 now, but Laura never forgot us. Whenever we would see her at a parade or a restaurant, it was always hugs, never just hello. She was so very special and we were just a very minor part of her life. She did good for so many people, and may God bless her soul. I know she is having a wonderful reunion at this very moment. #8 Punner Franzene 2011-11-11 10:49 I've known Laura since her credit union days and through our church where she was present for all of the gatherings. She will be missed, her "quiet yet feisty" personality. She was a pleasure to be around. Sorry for your loss. Quote

#9 Don Flaitz 2011-11-13 02:32 As children spending our summer vacations at Sunset Lake
nothing was as fun as seeing our neighbors, Laura and Cash. Whether it was baking us cookies or taking us fishing, they really showed four kids how to have a great time. Laura will be missed by all the Flaitz family.
