Zygmund J. Zyskowski Age 80 Iron River, MI
Passed away Saturday, December 31, 2011 at the Oscar G. Johnson Medical Center, Iron Mountain, MI.
Born: September 27, 1931 in Stambaugh, MI
The son of the late Albin and Martha (Viitala) Zyskowski grew up in Iron River and graduated from Iron River High School with the Class of 1950. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to the Iron River area and was employed as an iron miner by the M.A. Hanna Mining Company until his retirement in 1980. He also served as Iron River Township Constable and Custodian.
Zygmund married the former Sharon Molle on March 8, 1974 and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in 2011.
He was a member of Amvets Post #436, American Legion Alfred Branchini Post #17, American Legion Reino Post # 21 and served on the Veteran Trust Committee.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kim Moukazis and sister, Marilyn Meyer.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon

We had many a good time at your parents camp on the lake. I recall times when your Mother told you that the eggs had to be collected before we could leave for a weekend at the camp. I helped so that we could leave sooner rather than later!!
