Elta J. Darrell                                    Age 75                            Iron River, MI

Went to be with her Lord on Friday, January 27, 2012.

Born: October 7, 1936 in Alvin, WI

The daughter of the late Martin and Julia (Spicer) Borske attended the Elvoy and Iron River schools, graduating from Iron River High School.  She married George Darrell on September 28, 1957 at the Little White Church in Alvin Wisconsin.  They lived in Kenosha, WI for 32 years before retiring in Iron River in 1989.  They celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2007.

Elta worked as a church secretary at the First Assembly of God in Kenosha for eight years, retiring in 1997.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Iron River, Iron County Community Hospital Auxiliary where she previously served as treasurer, Women's Aglow and the Alvin/Nelma Women's Club.

She taught the adult Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church for several years and also helped with the Awana program.   She enjoyed teaching, reading and Bible studies.  She loved spending time with friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Julie Stoebner, brothers, Arnold and Darrell Borske, and sister, Alice Sunn.

She is survived by her husband George

                           Daughter, Melody (Tony) Fittante of Iron River

                           Three sisters; Anna Day of Alvin, WI

                                                  Violet Waier of Iron River

                                                  Ida (Cliff) Wold of Minneapolis, MN

                           Two brothers; Andrew (Maggie) Borske of Decorah, IA

                                                  Everett (Patricia) Borske of Lake City, MI

                           Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Arlen and Elaine Sunn

                                                   of Iron River

                           Five grandchildren; Maeghan Darrell,

                                                  Evan, Audra, Joshua, and Noah Stoebner

                           Numerous nieces and nephews

Visitation: Monday, January 30, 2012 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church.

Funeral Service: Monday, January 30, 2012 at 11:00 a.m.  at the First Baptist Church, Iron River, with Pastor John Fish to officiate.
