Otto E. Meyer                                   Age 90                           Iron River, MI        

Passed away May 29, 2012 at Northstar Health System in Iron River.

Born: September 30, 1921 in Ironwood, MI.

The son of the late Otto and Irene (Benjamin) Meyer, Sr., attended the Iron River schools and graduated.  Otto was a U.S. Army veteran.  He worked with his brothers as a meat wholesaler (Meyer Provision Co.) in Iron River. 

Otto married the former Lorraine Trybom on June 25, 1940 in Iron River, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area.  They celebrated their 51^st wedding anniversary in 1991.  Lorraine preceded him in death on November 3, 1991.  

Otto was a member of St. Peters Lutheran Church of Iron River.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting, watching sporting events involving his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and spending time with his family.  

He is survived by two sons, Ronald Meyer of Iron River

                                         Ryan Meyer of Negaunee, MI

                          Five great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his sons, Robert and Michael, his brothers, Morris, Arthur, and Donald and his sister, Shirley Stoychoff.

Visitation: Monday, June 4, 2012 from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.

Funeral Service: Monday, June 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church. Iron River, with Pastor Edward Starkey to officiate.

Interment: Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River

The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
