Norman R. Erickson, age 86, of Minneapolis, MN (formerly of Iron River, MI) passed away on February 24, 2013 in Minneapolis.

He was born May 16, 1926 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late George and Edla (Lindblom) Erickson. He attended the Iron River schools, graduating with the Class of 1944.  Norman served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II.  He received his Bachelor’s degree from Michigan State and then his MBA from the University of Michigan.  

Norman was a field representative for Studebaker and Ford Motor Companies.  He was an account supervisor at BBDO Advertising Agency in Chicago and Minneapolis.  He also worked for several advertising agencies and for Cargill Corporation in Minneapolis in the marketing department prior to his retirement in 1995. 

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Martha Johnson, Elsie Jewell, Eleanor Johnson and his brother, George Erickson. 

He is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Graveside service and interment will be in the Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River in the spring.

Memorials to Grace Covenant Church, Iron River MI, or to donor’s choice.

I always enjoyed his Christmas season visits to our house in Lombard, Il when we were growing up and also seeing him at Grandma's house on our summer vacations.
