Michael E. Jacobs

Michael is the owner and funeral director of Jacobs Funeral Home, Inc. of Iron River. He received his degree in 1967 from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in Dallas, Texas. He has been active in funeral service since, and in 1978 purchased the Duvall Funeral Home in Iron River. He holds the National Board Certification and is a licensed Funeral Director in Michigan and Wisconsin. He was also certified through Wayne State University for Eye Enucleation.

He is a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, the Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus (Third Degree), Iron River Elks Lodge 1671 of Iron River, National Funeral Directors Association, Michigan Funeral Directors Association, and Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association. He also serves on the Dickinson-Iron District Pandemic Mass Fatality Committee.

 
Toni J. Jacobs

Toni is co-owner with her husband Mike at the funeral home. She is a licensed Insurance Agent (Limited Life). A graduate of Mercy School of Nursing, she worked as a Registered Nurse 10 plus years, prior to moving to Iron River in 1978. She is a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, St. Agnes Altar Society, Rosary Sodality, American Nursing Association, and Michigan Nurses Association.

 
Paul Jacobs

Paul is a second-generation funeral director at Jacobs Funeral Home. He graduated from the University of Minnesota Duluth in 2006 with a degree of Bachelor of Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. He is a 2007 graduate of Worsham College of Mortuary Science in Wheeling, IL with an Associates Degree in Mortuary Science. He holds the National Board Certification and is a licensed Funeral Director in Michigan and Wisconsin. He was the recipient of the Joan D. Tomczak Memorial Scholarship for his outstanding professionalism.

He is a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, National Funeral Directors Association, Michigan Funeral Directors Association, and Wisconsin Funeral Directors Association. He presently serves on the Northstar Health System Foundation Board.

 
Norman Borske

Norman assists with visitations, funerals, driving, and is the all around handy man. He and his wife Diane are lifelong residents of the area. He joined the funeral home in 2002 after his retirement from the West Iron County School System, where he was employed in maintenance.

 
Dorothy Vaughn

Dorothy is secretary/ receptionist at the funeral home and assists with visitations and funeral services. She joined the funeral home staff in 2005 after she and her husband George returned to the Iron River area after several years of working and traveling throughout the United States.
