Albert J. Melchiori

Albert J. Melchiori, age 87, of Iron River, MI, died Wednesday, December 17, 2014. He was born on August 16, 1927 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late John and Josephine (Zanon) Melchiori. He attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating with the Class of 1945, and later attended Elgin Watch School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII. He was self-employed in the television sales and service industry for over 50 years. Albert married the former Adris Trybom on May 5, 1951 at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River, and the couple made their home in Bates Township. They were lifelong residents of the area and celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in 2009. Adris preceded him in death on February 27, 2010. He attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, and was a member of the Iron River Country Club, and former Elks Lodge. He enjoyed boating, fishing, hunting, golfing, bowling, and fixing things. Albert is survived by his sons, John (Roxanne) Melchiori of Crystal Falls, Don Melchiori of Iron River, and Brian (Carol) Melchiori of Lake Elmo, MN; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, and extended family He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Victor and Eugene Melchiori, and infant brother, Robert. Visitation will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Memorial services will follow at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Bonny Kinnunen to officiate.
