Aldo Pedranzan, age 91, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2021 at Dimensions Living in Appleton, WI. He was born on May 31, 1929 in Caspian, MI, the son of the late Peter and Teresa (Schiavo) Pedranzan. Aldo attended the Caspian and Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1947. After high school, he worked for Haydon Oil Service in Iron River for one year before serving in the US Air Force. Aldo married the former Verna Briggs on May 16, 1953 at St. Mary’s Church in Gaastra, MI. The couple made their home in Stambaugh, MI. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in 2015. Verna preceded him in death on May 4, 2016. He was employed as a miner for the Pickands Mather Co. at the Buck Mine until its closure. Aldo then was employed by MA Hanna Mining Co. at the Wauseca Mine and then the Groveland Mine in Randville, MI. He retired in 1981 when the Groveland closed. Aldo was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI and the American Legion Reino Post 21. He enjoyed playing bocce ball, hunting, playing the concertina, dancing to polka music, and playing cards. Aldo is survived by his son, Marty Joseph (Judy) Pedranzan of Neenah, WI; sister, Angeline DeMilio of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Valerie (Miguel) Valle and Sheldon (Kaylie) Pedranzan; great grandchildren, Micah Valle and Gracie Pedranzan; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his son, James; brother, Mario Pedranzan; sister, Mary Partridge; and his stepmother, Blanche Pedranzan. A visitation will be held on Thursday, March 25, 2021 from 10:30am to 11:30am at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. A funeral service will follow at 12pm at St. Cecilia Catholic Church with Fr. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside in the spring.
