Alice Skrivanie

Alice (née Beckman) Skrivanie passed away on November 1st, 2020 at the Iron River Care Center at 87 years of age. She was born November 28, 1932, the daughter of the late Herman and Molly Radke Beckman. She graduated from Iron River High School with the Class of 1950. On June 14, 1952 Alice married Anton “Tony” Skrivanie and they made their home in Iron River, living in the same house in the Hilltop Addition for 58 years. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2017. She was employed by several local businesses. Later she and Tony operated the Hilltop Adult Foster Care Home in Iron River. Alice was an active member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River, participating in the Rachel Circle and Quilters. She enjoyed gardening, baking, and cooking. Alice was known for her great cinnamon rolls and homemade pasties. She was preceded in death by her husband, Anton “Tony” Skrivanie in 2017; her daughter, Julie (née Skrivanie) Jacobson in July 2020; and her special needs son, Stevie Skrivanie, who passed away in September 2020. Alice is survived by her son, Richard (Sue) Skrivanie of Minneapolis, MN; daughters, Sandy (George) Lundwall of Stevensville, MT and Toni (Jeff) Stachowicz of Caspian, MI; seven grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sister, Mary (née Beckman) Butler of Racine, WI; extended family and friends. No services will be held at this time. Alice will be remembered as a very caring, thoughtful wife, mother, and grandmother who would help anyone who needed help.
