Andrew G. Uren

Andrew G. Uren, 53, of Caspian, MI, passed away on Friday, October 18, 2024, at UW Health in Madison, WI. He was born on December 16, 1970, in San Diego, CA, the son of the late Myron Uren and Daryl “Dee” (Frailing) Uren. He attended and graduated from West Iron County Schools. Andrew married Debbie Hooper on July 2, 2004, in Gogebic County, MI. They celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this year. He was employed as a Certified Nursing Assistant at several nursing homes during his career. Andrew enjoyed camping, fishing, and writing. He was also an artist and won several awards for his drawing and artwork. Andrew is survived by his wife, Debbie; sons, Robert (Michelle) Aldegarie and Christopher (Toni) Aldegarie, both of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Carson and Cameron; brother, Lester (Kelly) Uren of Iron River, MI; sisters, Dawn (Ron) Newberry of Moorpark, CA and Gwen (Greg) Lemke of Iron River, MI: mother-in-law, Sue Hooper of Iron River; sister-in-law, Julie Hooper of Eugene, OR; best friend, Chris (Julie) Rybicki of Iron River, MI; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Bob Hooper. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 4:30 pm to 6:00 pm at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A memorial service will follow at 6 pm with Deacon Terry Verville to officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
