Ann Proksch, age 84 of Iron River, MI, passed away on June 21, 2026.

She was born on March 16, 1942, in Bloomington, IL, the daughter of the late Harold and Aileen (Ellis) Roggy. Ann attended Downs, IL schools, graduating with the Class of 1960. She then attended Illinois State University earning a degree in Business Administration.

She was employed as a teacher for two years in Gurnee, IL where she was awarded a trip to visit Europe during the summer. This ignited her lifelong love of travel. After returning from Europe, she attended Northern Colorado University and earned dual master’s degrees in business and psychology. While finishing school, she met and married Charles Proksch in Greeley, CO on April 3, 1970. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in April 2026.

Ann was religious with a deep faith in the Lord. She spent several years as a member of the Grace Covenant Church while her kids were in school but also attended different Christian denominations wherever she traveled and lived.

Ann had two great loves in her life, her travel and her family. Her travels included visiting six continents, 35+ countries and most of the United States. She also was very involved in her children’s and grandchildren’s lives. She loved to play croquet and bridge with her family, attend their sports and recitals, and enjoyed summers on the lake with them.

Ann is survived by her husband, Charles; son, David Proksch of Jackson, WI; daughter, Debra (Ryan) Woods of Oak Park, IL; brother, Richard (Sharon) Roggy of Bloomington, IL; grandchildren Devin, Nicholas, Collin, and Noah; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Vicky Prewitt to officiate.
