Anna L. Day

Anna L. Day, 83, Alvin, WI, passed away Monday, May 1, 2013 at Howard Young Medical Center, Woodruff, WI. She was born January 30, 1930 in Alvin, WI, daughter of the late Martin and Julia (Spicer) Borske. She attended Elvoy and Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School. Anna married Herman Day on June 5, 1948 in Alvin and the couple made their home in Minnesota. Herman preceded her in death. She was employed by the Safe Tran Company for 29 years, retiring in 1995. After her retirement, she returned to the Alvin area to make her home. Anna was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping, quilting, and crocheting, and especially loved spending time with family and friends. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Arnold and Darrell Borske, and three sisters, Alice Sunn, Elta Darrell and Violet Waier. Anna is survived by her sons, David (Robin) Day of Minneapolis, MN, and Daniel (Patti) Day of Litchfield, MN; brothers, Andrew (Margaret) Borske of Decorah, IA, and Everett (Pat) Borske of Lake City, MI; sister, Ida (Cliff) Wold of Minneapolis, MN; five grandchildren and four great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation will be held June 7, 2013 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River, MI. Funeral services will follow at 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home with Pastor John Fish to officiate. Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
