Anna M. Peterson

Anna M. Peterson, age 87, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, May 20, 2018. Anna was born July 16, 1930 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Jesse E. and Anna M. (Strelow) Dent. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1948. Anna married George W. Peterson on June 10, 1950 and the couple made their home in Iron River. They celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary in 2017. She was employed at the Home Bakery for 27 years. Anna was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River. She loved camping, gardening, baking, cooking and craft work. Anna is survived by her husband George of Crystal Falls; son, Thomas Jay (Sally Jane) Peterson of Traverse City, MI; daughters, Sharon (Randy) Zielicke of Appleton, WI, Sally Ann (Clifton) McQueen of Kingsford, MI, and Gail Peterson of Appleton, WI; brother, Dale (Dorothy) Dent of Wisconsin; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and extended family. She was preceded in death by her brother, Leroy Dent, and sister, Ruth Showen. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Iron River.
