Anna Stapleton

Mrs. Anna I. Stapleton, age 82, of Alvin, WI, died Wednesday, June 6, 2007, at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River, MI. Born: February 27, 1925, Bemidji, Minnesota. She was the daughter of the late Herman and Molly (Ratke) Beckman and attended the Bartlett Schools in North Dakota and the Elvoy School in Nelma, WI. She moved to Alvin, WI, in her youth. She married Wayne Stapleton on August 1, 1943 in Nelma, WI, and the couple celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary in 2001. He preceded her in death on August 9, 2001. She was a member of the St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church. Anna was an avid gardener, enjoyed camping at Perch Lake, and loved spending time with her family, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Anna was also preceded in death by a son, Ronald Stapleton; a brother, Wilfred Beckman; and a sister, Leona Koski.
