Antoinette B. Bal, age 96, of Iron River, MI, died Monday, November 2, 2015 at her home. Antoinette was born July 15, 1919 at Buck Lake, MI, the daughter of the late Michael and Katherine (Bilski) Wojdacz. She was a lifelong resident of the area, and attended the Alpha Schools. She married Michael Walter Bal on May 31, 1939 at Guardian Angels Church of Crystal Falls. She was employed by the J.C. Penny Company for over 20 years, retiring in 1982. Antoinette was a member of the Assumption Church, the St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, the Rosary Sodality, the Daughters of Isabella, and the Red Hat Society. She volunteered with the Red Cross, and was also active with home care. She enjoyed baking, knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She was preceded in death by son, Michael Bal; daughter, Alice Husky; sisters, Anne, and Mary; brothers, Joe, Frank, Albert, Raymond, John, Walter, and Stanley Wojdacz. She is survived by her daughters, Janis (Ronald) Rosera of St. Francis, WI, and Nancy (Alan) Clements of Iron River Township; son-in-law, Jim Huskey of Eureka, MO; nine grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one great, great grandchild; nieces, nephews, and extended family. Visitation will be held Friday, November 6, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 7, 2015 at 11 a.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The ladies of the Rosary Sodality will form an Honor Guard at the service.Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to St. Agnes Catholic Church for the carillon bells.
