Antoinette K. Sova

Antoinette “Toni” K. Sova, age 93, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Sunday, April 26, 2020 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility. She was born on January 14, 1927 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Frank and Katherine (Zaidel) Kunchynski. She attended and graduated from the Iron River Schools, with the Class of 1944. Toni married Kenneth Sova at the former Assumption Church of Iron River on August 14, 1948, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated 45 wonderful years together until Kenneth passed away on July 5, 1993. She was employed at Angeli Foods and worked for Leo Kunchynski for many years and also at the Iron County Reporter. Toni was a member of the St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River, the St. Agnes Altar Society, and the Rosary Sodality and a former member of the Assumption Church and the Legion of Mary. Toni is survived by her son, Mark Sova of Los Angeles, CA; daughters, Deborah (Richard) Wales of Quinnesec, MI, Lois (James) Trewartha of Caspian, MI, and Judy Hay of Iron River, MI; eight grandchildren, Cheire, Nicole, Paul, David, Lori, Michael, Brent, and Misty; five great grandchildren, Naya, Elli, Russell, Mannie, and Viviann; nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Chester and Leonard Kunchynski and sisters, Marian Goriesky, Frances Waitrovich, and Valeria Anderson.
