Arlene J. Manfredi

Arlene J. Manfredi, age 90, passed away on December 21, 2024, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI. She was born July 29, 1934, in “Little Finland” in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Toivo and Senja (Gustafson) Prittinen. Arlene attended Bates Schools until the 10th grade, and finished her education at Iron River High School, graduating in 1952. Arlene married Albert Manfredi on June 29, 1957, at St Agnes Church in Iron River. The couple celebrated their 67th anniversary in June 2024. Arlene was known for her knitting and crocheting skills and was never without a project nearby. She also loved cooking, baking, and feeding friends and family. She enjoyed reading romance novels, raising house plants, tending to her flower beds, and going to garage sales. Arlene is survived by her husband, Al Manfredi; daughter, Deb (Ray) Bowns of Rhinelander, WI; son, Don (Rachael Lawrukovich) of Canton, MI; granddaughters, Erin (Steve) Penland and Emily Bowns; great-grandson, Max Penland; brother, Robert (Elaine) Prittinen; and extended family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Nels Prittinen. A special thank you to Iron County Medical Care Facility for the excellent and loving care they provided to Arlene.
