Arnoldine J. Basanese

Arnoldine J. Basanese, 83, of Watersmeet, MI, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, January 6, 2025. She was born on April 16, 1941, in Watersmeet, MI, the daughter of the late Arnold and Margaret (Vamosh) Langren. Arnoldine attended Watersmeet Township School, graduating with the class of 1959. She attended community college in Virginia, MN. Arnoldine married Parnell Basanese on August 8, 1964, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watersmeet. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in 2024. She was employed as a bookkeeper for the Watersmeet Schools. Arnoldine was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and enjoyed watching sports and Westerns. Arnoldine is survived by her husband, Parnell; children, Tony (Tricia) Basanese of Watersmeet, Maria (Tom) Hill of Iron Mountain, MI, Geno (Lisa) Basanese of Iron Mountain, MI, Karla (Dennis) Imhoff, and Lonnie (Jeff) Hemming; grandchildren, Gina, Lia, Curtis, Angelina, Charlie, Ben, Giovanni, Dante, Gianna, Vita, and Alena; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Georgia Ayotte. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church with Fr. Daniel Fosu to officiate. Please join the family in the fellowship hall for cake and coffee following Mass. Interment will be in Watersmeet Township Cemetery in the spring.
