Audrey L. Caroen, age 96, of Crystal Falls, MI, went home to the loving arms of the Lord and her husband on March 18, 2022, at the Iron River Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 12, 1925, in Davison, MI, the daughter of Dale and Darlene (Hall) Demick. Audrey married Alfred B. Caroen on July 21, 1940, in Napoleon, OH. The couple celebrated had 79 wonderful years of marriage. They celebrated many years traveling and making great memories together. Alfred preceded her in death on October 4, 2019. She enjoyed being a homemaker and was proud to serve her country working in the Willow Run Bomber plant, where she riveted B-24 bombers. Aside from being a gracious sweet person, she was a light of love to her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Audrey never had a negative thing to say about anyone and loved her family dearly. She enjoyed rock and bottle collecting, along with bird watching and gardening. She also took interest in her family genealogy. Audrey is survived by her sons, Jon (Laurie), Thomas (Carol), and Kevin (Debbie) Caroen; grandchildren, Kimberly (Paul) Knight, Julie Careon, Bonnie Koenig, Abby (Philip) Matzke, Brian Caroen, Carleen Caroen, Scott Caroen, Emily (Jeremy) Allen, Natalie Blake, Wendy (Rich) LaRocca; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Donna Yeager of Prudenville, MI; special cousin, Roxanne LeBlanc; extended family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her infant daughter, Sharon; son, Alfred Caroen Jr; sister, Barbara Lark; granddaughter, Michelle; and great granddaughter, Katie Mae. A graveside service at Hematite Township Cemetery in Amasa, MI will be held at a later date.
