Aurelia “Renee” Turcotte née Hodkiewicz of Iron River, formerly Stambaugh, Michigan, beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2021 in Kaukauna, WI. Aurelia was born March 7, 1921 in Pulaski, Wisconsin to the late Stanley and Jennie (Wojinski) Hodkiewicz. She married Clifford Turcotte in 1941 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gaastra, Michigan and the couple made their home in Pentoga, Michigan. When Clifford returned from the Army Air Force after World War II they moved to Stambaugh, Michigan. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary before his passing on July 3, 2001. She was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Church and Guild, and after its closing joined St. Agnes parish in Iron River. She was a member of the Rosary Sodality. A woman of wide interests she loved to bake, read, sew, make quilts and various crafts, and watch EWTN. She was preceded in death by her husband Clifford, and a son Robert, brothers John, Edward, James, Daniel, Alvin, and Phillip Hodkiewicz and sisters Frances Sang, Anna Gorecki, Irene Sojka, Evelyn Fischer, and Emily Sperk. Aurelia is survived by three children William (Betty) Turcotte of Crystal Falls, Susan (Russell) Brittain of Gladstone and Donna (Larry) Mattioli of Kaukauna, Wisconsin. Aurelia is also survived by five grandchildren, Lori (Greg) Morningstar, Julie (Philip) Strimbu, Matthew Turcotte, Stacie (Paul) Hermes and Michael (Katie) Mattioli. Six great grandchildren also survive, Emily and Abby Morningstar, Ellery and Libby Strimbu, and Ellen and Edward Hermes. She is also survived by two sisters, Virginia Krysiak and Barbara (James) Banaszynski. A private Christian funeral service for Aurelia will be held at a later date. Interment will be at the Stambaugh Cemetery.
