Avis G. Belongie Age 78 Louisville, KY (formerly of Gaastra, MI )Died Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Iron River Care Center, Iron River, MI. Born: September 22, 1932 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Arthur and Alice (Moger) Denis attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School. Avis married Lyle Belongie on September 2, 1951and Lyle preceded her in death. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River and the American Legion Auxiliary of Brillion, WI. She enjoyed gardening, reading, ceramics, cooking, her cats, and especially spending time with family. She is survived by her sons; Dennis (Vicki) Belongie of Wausau, WI Kevin (Carol) Belongie of Chandler, TX Jamie (Penny) Belongie of Louisville, KY Brothers; Curtis (Dixie Lee) Denis of Iron River Ronald Denis of Gaastra Sisters-in-law; Viola Stachowicz Vicki Mott Eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren Visitation: Friday, February 25, 2011 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River. Funeral Service: Friday, February 25, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church, Iron River, with Pastor Dawn Treado Green to officiate.
