Barbara K. Holm

Barbara K. Holm, age 83, of Iron River, MI, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at her home. She was born December 20, 1931 in Iron River, MI, the daughter of the late Norman and Lila (Kinney) Oss. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1950. Barbara married George E. Holm on October 28, 1950 at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River, and the couple celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in 2014. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River, and lifetime member of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, quilting, and used her creative talents to make socks for servicemen. She especially loved spending time with family. She is survived by her husband, George; sons, Norman (Ann) Holm of Benzonia, MI, and John (Liz) of Cincinnati, OH; daughters, Susan Holm of Seattle, WA, Donna (Mike) June of Hoodsport, WA, and Pam (Pete) Gasperini of Iron River; five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Jennifer June. Visitation will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Luther Room of the First Lutheran Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church with Rev. Michael Laakko and Rev. Tom Jones to concelebrate.
