Beatrice J. Rivard

Beatrice J. Rivard, age 76 of Caspian, MI, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Northstar Health System, Iron River. Born: July 25, 1933 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Godfrey and Clara Matilda (Ende) Anderson attended the Stambaugh schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School in 1951. Beatrice married Billy Rivard on June 13, 1953 and the couple made their home in Caspian. They celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary this year. Billy preceded her in death on September 2, 2009. After her children were raised, she worked as a dietician at the Iron County Medical Care Facility and completed courses for certification. She retired due to ill health in 1991. Beatrice was a member of St Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting and doing Tri-chem. She was an excellent cook and baker and her family was the center of her life. She especially enjoyed spending time on the island at Paint Lake. She is survived by three sons; Mark (Terry) Rivard of Gaastra William (Patty) Rivard of Caspian Blaine (Carol) Rivard of Gaastra One daughter, Arbutus ""Bootsy"" and Neil Tappa of Coleman, WI Brothers; Milton Anderson of Stambaugh Township Her twin brother, Baynard Anderson of Stambaugh Township Sisters; Goldine Baumgartner of Iron River Twin sisters; Lillian (James) Goodhall of Kenosha, WI Lydia Sipper of Green Bay, WI 15 grandchildren 17 great grandchildren Nieces, nephews and extended family She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie LaRock, great granddaughter, Hannah Jane Ziemer, and brother, Roy Anderson. Visitation: Monday, October 26, 2009 from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Monday, October 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Caspian, with Rev. Norman Clisch, pastor, to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Pallbearers: Nathan Tappa, Jason Rivard, Joshua Rivard, Matthew Rivard, Justin Rivard, Dan Marcell, Derrick Smith, David Olsen and Glen Ziemer.
