Bennie ""Ben"" J. Holm, age 83, Crystal Falls, MI died Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls. Born August 14, 1924 in Malta, MT The son of the late Julius and Hilma (Wallin) Holm attended most of his school days in Rice Lake, WI. The family moved to Iron River in 1941 and Ben graduated from Iron River High School with the Class of 1943. During his younger years he was active in archery, fishing, hunting, and bowling. In 1990 Ben married Corinne Bennett Koski, and they enjoyed traveling, camping, and doing volunteer work for Air Shows. In 1999 the couple started doing craft shows with the woodwork that they did. Ben worked for Odgers Drilling, MacPherson's, Caspian Construction, Drott, and in 1978 he joined the Carpenters Union #1510 and worked as a millwright until he retired in 1991. He was a life member of the Elks 1671, a life member of the Chippewa Snowkats Snowmobile Club, and a life member of the Engineers Club. He was also a member of the DCPA (Dickinson County Pilots Association) and the EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association). He owned his own airplane, a J-3 Cub and enjoyed flying for pleasure. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lawrence and Morris, and a sister, Alvilda. He is survived by his wife, Corinne One daughter, Beth Waller of Plymouth, WI Three grandchildren Six great grandchildren One step-daughter, Joni (Randy) Jarvis of Finland, MN Two step-sons, Jim Koski of Tofte, MN Jon ""JB"" Koski of Crystal Falls Four step-grandchildren One sister Adeline (Jerry) Galles of Alamo, TX One brother Clifford (Lucille) Holm of Washington State Nieces and nephews Private Services will be held Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River.
