Bernard J. St. Germain Age 90 Iron River, MI Passed away Sunday, February 17, 2013. He was born April 10, 1922 in Iron River, MI, the son of the late Arthur and Leah M. (Verville) St. Germain. He attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1941. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, completing the Aviation Cadet Pilot Training Program, and played in the 32nd Army Air Force Band. He was a Michigan licensed registered barber since 1948. Bernard married the former Nancy Miatech on July 16, 1964 and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary in 2012. Nancy preceded him in death on August 31, 2012. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the oldest member of the American Legion Reino Post #21 of Stambaugh, and Charter Member of the Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame. Bernard was a Military/Civilian Bugler for over 60 years, serving at many Military Funeral Rites. He enjoyed flying and fishing. He is survived by his sons, Victor (Leigh) St. Germain of Coffee Springs, AL Bernie Lee St. Germain of Flagstaff, AZ Daughters, Mary (Bill) Brown of Crystal Falls, MI Rose (Tom) Lazuk of Oak Lawn, IL Debbie (David) Holmer of Fort Bragg, CA Eight grandchildren, Jacob, Justin and Amelia St. Germain, Michael and Amelia Lazuk, Zack Brown, Nicole Alexander and Cheryl Brockhaus One great granddaughter, Taylor Brockhaus Numerous nieces, nephews and extended family He was also preceded in death by his brother, Arthur St. Germain, sister, Dorothy Anderman, and granddaughter Victoria St. Germain. Visitation will be held Monday, February 25, 2013 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, with Rev. Dawn Treado Green to officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River in the Spring. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
