Betty J. Hawke

Betty J. Hawke, age 80, of Crystal Falls, MI, passed away Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Northstar Health System, Iron River, MI. She was born April 8, 1933 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of the late Harry and Nel (Bymaster) Moyer. Betty married Robert R. Hawke on June 23, 1951 in Kokamo, IN. They moved to Iron River and raised their family. They moved to Illinois for 10 years and then returned to where their hearts always were at Chicagoan Lake until their deaths. She was employed by the Iron County Probate court for many years. Betty was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Iron River. She was remembered for her tasty baked goods which she shared everywhere she went and her delicious meals. She enjoyed bowling and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Michael Hawke of Crystal Falls; daughters, Sue (Michael) Bilski of Gaastra and Kelly (Frederick) Saigh of Crystal Falls; daughter-in-law, Shari Hawke of Twin Lakes, WI; brother-in-law, Jay Hawke; nephew, Darryl (Dana) Hawke; nine grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert R; son, Robert; brother, Harry Moyer; and her niece Jennifer Hawke.
