Beverly A. Talerico

Beverly A. Talerico, age 94, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI. Beverly was born on October 9, 1926 in Bessemer, MI, the daughter of the late Albert and Alfrieda (Hein) Thomas. She spent her early life in Hurley, WI, Chicago, IL and Hazel Park, MI. She attended the Detroit area schools, graduating from Hazel Park High School. She married James Talerico on October 2, 1953 in Watersmeet, MI and the couple made their home in Iron River. They celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in 2007. James preceded her in death on December 19, 2007. Beverly was employed for many years as a telephone operator for Michigan Bell, initially in Royal Oak, MI and eventually in Iron River. She also served as the Court Magistrate of the Baraga County District Court in L’Anse for 20 years, retiring in 1988. In retirement, Beverly and her husband, Jim made their home in Iron River, close to their family and friends. Beverly was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in Iron River. She enjoyed bowling, reading, cooking, chocolate and most importantly family. Beverly is survived by her sons, Dario (Pamela) Talerico of Kiel, WI and Damon (Terri) Talerico of Sussex, WI, four grandchildren, Tony (Jamie) Talerico, Jennifer Meiselwitz, Nick and Dylan (Allie) Talerico; two great grandchildren, Fletcher and Makayla Talerico; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Byron (Lola) Thomas and sisters, Margarite (DeWitt) Wilbur and Jane (Warren) Steffan. A private family memorial service will take place at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron River. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Iron County Historical Museum (https://ironcountymuseum.org/galleria/) or the Iron County Medical Care Facility Foundation (http://www.ironcountymcf.com/foundation.html) in Beverly’s name.
