Brian R. Holmberg

Brian R. Holmberg, age 45 of Gaastra, MI, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023, at Aurora BayCare Medical Center in Green Bay, WI, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. He was born on September 8, 1978, in Bay City, MI, the son of Robert and Lynn Fleury-Holmberg. He graduated from West Iron County school. He was employed as a laborer at Ottawa Forest Products. He was an exceptionally hard worker. Brian enjoyed camping, fishing, hockey, playing cards with his children, snake hunting, witty humor, spending time with his family, and most of all, being a father. Brian is survived by sons, Jacob and Jonah Holmberg, of Gaastra; daughter, Julia Holmberg of Gaastra; granddaughter, Suzie Lindahl; parents, Robert and Lynn Fleury Holmberg of Iron River, MI; sisters, Sheri (fiancé Gerald Nicholson) Lynn, of Gwinn, MI; Cindy (Duane) Fredrickson, of Iron River, MI; maternal grandmother, Theresa Fleury of Escanaba, MI; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. He is preceded in death by his longtime partner and mother of his children, Sarah Economy; maternal grandfather, Rev. Donald Fleury of Escanaba, MI; and paternal grandparents Herb and Evelyn Holmberg of Gladstone, MI. A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Cornerstone Bible Church in Iron River, MI.
