Bruce A. Benette

Bruce A. Benette, age 55 of Iron River, MI, died Tuesday, January 26, 2010 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. Born: December 1, 1954 in Ann Arbor, MI The son of the late Paul and Lucille (Jobin) Benette attended the Ann Arbor Schools and graduated. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He also attended technical college and was employed as a computer programmer for over 20 years. Bruce married the former Heather Quarless on July 11, 1998 and the couple made their home in Iron River. They celebrated their 11th wedding anniversary in 2009. He was a member of VFW Ottawa Post 3134 Men's Auxiliary. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed fishing. He was also an enthusiastic sports fan of the Detroit Lions, Redwings, University of Michigan, and Nascar. He is survived by his wife, Heather Sons; Dennis (Crystal Goriecki) Benette of Ypsilanti, MI Josh Alexa of Iron River Daughters; Annie (Brian) Maloney of Ypsilanti, MI Courtney Alexa of Iron River Mother-in-law, Sue Korus of Hawaii Father-in-law, Terry Quarless of California Sisters-in-law; Dawn Painter of California Heidi (Damon) Faria of California Grandchildren; George, Brian, Samantha, and Lennon Grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews Special friends; Michael, Michelle, and Andy Visitation: Monday, February 1, 2010 from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Memorial Service: Monday, February 1, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, with Pastor John Fish to officiate. The West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the service.
