Bruno Peretto, 98, Gaastra, MI, died Sunday, March 24, 2013 at Northstar Health System, Iron River. He was born February 11, 1915 in Gaastra, MI, son of the late Louis and Mary (Castenaro) Peretto. He attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the Class of 1933. He was employed as a miner by Pickens-Mather Mining Company for 21 years. Bruno married the former Lillian A. Quirk on September 4, 1937 in Gaastra and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary in 2002. Bruno attended St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian and was a member of Duke A ' Bruzzi and the Steel Workers Union. He enjoyed hunting fishing, tying flies, woodworking, taxidermy and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian on February 1, 2003; brothers, John and Silvio; sisters, Amelia Hammer, Palma Dellies and Irma Abata. He is survived by his sons, David Peretto of Gaastra and Gary Peretto of Stephenson, MI; daughter, Linda (John) Grier of Iron Mountain, MI; eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; special friends, Dorothy Peretto of Wallace, MI and Janet Phillippo of Suamico, WI. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 from 10:30 a.m.to 12:15p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at St Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River. Funeral arrangements by the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River.
