Calvin J. Vezzetti Age 83 Roseburg, OR, formerly of Iron River, passed away on October 21, 2012. Calvin was born October 29, 1928 in Iron River, MI, the son of the late Joseph and Myrtle (Lundin) Vezzetti. He attended the Iron River schools and graduated in 1946. He joined the Marine Corp Air Force in 1946, and was stationed at Cherry Point, NC. Calvin was first employed at Carlson-Vezzetti Motors in Iron River for 7 years, and then began a 32-year career as a mechanical foreman for the M.A. Hanna Mining Company with positions in Michigan, Missouri, and finally in Oregon. He retired in 1987. Calvin married Elayne Bartczak on February 12, 1949 at St. Mary 's Catholic Church of Gaastra, MI. The couple celebrated their 63rd wedding anniversary this year. Calvin and Elayne lived in Roseburg, Oregon for the past 31 years. Some of Calvin 's interests included fishing (especially on the Paint River in Michigan), building furniture and other woodworking projects, and working in the yard. While they lived in Iron River, Calvin was a partner in the Lakeland Underwater Salvage Company SCUBA search and rescue team. He is survived by his wife, Elayne Vezzetti of Roseburg, OR Son, David (Carol) Vezzetti of Arnold, MO Daughters, Angela (Rick) Peacor of Eugene, OR Judi (Tom) Crouch of St. Louis, MO Sisters, Carol Vezzetti of Silver Springs, MD Sally Maki of Appleton, WI Three granddaughters, Erin Stout, Emily Vezzetti, and Helena Peacor Two great grandchildren, Dakota and Canyon He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Vezzetti. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 2, 2012 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church of Iron River with Rev. Bonny Kinnunen to officiate. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family requests donations be made in Calvin 's name to the Iron County Historical Museum at 100 Brady Avenue, Caspian, MI 49915.
