Carl ""Bud"" Maki Age 79 Stambaugh Twp died Thursday, April 19, 2007 at the Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River, MI Born March 21, 1928 in Caspian, MI He was the son of the late Eino Maki of Iron River and Arthur and Sylvia (Wirtanen) Heikkila of Caspian. He attended the Caspian and Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School in 1947. He married Evelyn Thrasher on May 22, 1948 in Crystal Falls, MI and the couple were life long residents of the Iron River area. He was employed by the M.A. Hanna Mining Company at the Homer-Wauseeka Mine until it closed. He attended Diesel Mechanic School in Houghton, MI, graduating with honors in 1969 and then taught at the Ford Forestry Center (Through Michigan Tech) for 17 years. He then operated ""Bud's Used Parts"" on the Caspian Cut-off. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Eagles #1603, and the Michigan Teacher's Association. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed his camp and his Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Evelyn, an infant son Gary, brothers Richard Maki and Wallace Heikkila, and sister Viola Nowicki. He is survived by his son, Gerald Maki of Stambaugh Twp, MI One daughter, Julie (Gary) Larson of Stambaugh Twp, MI Four brothers, Daniel Heikkila of Green Bay, WI Walter Maki of Iron River, MI Thomas Maki of Iron River, MI Ronald (Sandy) Maki of Iron River, MI Four sisters, Shirley Cavison of Crystal Falls, MI Ione (Jim) Condon of Crystal Falls, MI Yvonne (Charles) Kralovec of Caspian, MI Darlene (Bernard) Williams of Howard, WI Four grandchildren, Stacy (Tracy) Larson Brian (Tricia) Larson Amy Maki Jarrad Maki Four great grandchildren, Garrod, Grace, Seth, and Gage Visitation: Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, MI.
