Carol J. Brooks, age 73 of Merrill, WI, formerly of Long Lake, WI, died Friday, August 21, 2009 at the Woodland Court Elder Services, Merrill. Born: December 22, 1935 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late Victor and June (Magnuson) Thunander attended the Iron River schools and graduated from Iron River High School. She was employed at Angeli's Central Market, Iron River and later for the Wooden Toy Factory. She married Vance Brooks July 21, 1975, in Florence and the couple made their home in Long Lake. In February 2002 the couple moved to Merrill to reside by their son and family. Vance preceded her in death June 15, 2002. Carol loved to travel and especially spending time and traveling with her grandchildren. She enjoyed visiting with her new friends in Merrill and going out for lunches. She was a member of the Long Lake Community Bible Church, the Bible Presbyterian Church, Merrill, and the Jenny Tower Bible Study also of Merrill. She is survived by her son, Jody (Janet) Anderson, Merrill Grandchildren; Rocco, Nicholas and Maggie Anderson Sisters; Lucille (Dick) Tegge, Crystal Falls, MI Mavis (Donald) Larson, Arizona Alice Lynch, Washington State Nieces, nephews and extended family. Visitation: Tuesday August 25, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River, MI. Funeral Service; Wednesday August 26, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Long Lake Community Bible Church, Long Lake with Pastor Curtis Lamansky and Pastor Trevor Gearhart to officiate. Interment; Long Lake Cemetery, Long Lake, WI A Memorial service will be held Friday August 28, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at the Bible Presbyterian Church, Merrill, WI.
