Carol Jean Jewell

Carol J. Jewell, age 84 of Iron River, MI, died Friday, June 25, 2010 at her home. Born: July 20, 1925 in Stambaugh, MI The daughter of the late John and Hulda (Nelson) Holm attended the Iron River schools, graduating from Iron River High School with the Class of 1944. Carol married Harold Jewell on January 19, 1946 at the First Baptist Church of Iron River and the couple were lifelong resident of the area. Harold preceded her in death in 1995. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Iron River. She enjoyed cooking with her husband and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her son, Thomas (Shirley) Jewell of Winter, WI Daughters; Barbara (Spencer) Reitz of Swartz Creek, MI Diane (Franz) Mogdis of Stanton, MI Brothers; George (Barbara) Holm of Iron River Ellsworth (Ann) Holm of Alexandria, MN Sister, Celeste Powell of Michigan City, IN Four granddaughters; Melissa, Kimberly, Amy and Debi Numerous nieces and nephews She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clifford and Robert Holm and two sisters, Mildred Bedard and Doris Bach. Visitation: Monday, June 28, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron River. Funeral Service: Tuesday, June 29, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the First Baptist Church, Iron River, with Rev. John Fish to officiate. Interment: Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River The family suggests memorial donations to the First Baptist Church of Iron River or Northstar Home Health Care and Hospice.
