Carol A. Lamminen

Carol A. Lamminen, 83, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital.

She was born on April 14, 1943, in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Earl and Mildred (Olson) LaFountain. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the Class of 1961.

Carol married LeRoy Lamminen on May 19, 1962, at First Lutheran Church in Iron River. They celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary in 2005. LeRoy preceded her in death on January 15, 2006.

She was employed as the town clerk for Pleasant Prairie, WI for many years. After retiring, Carol and LeRoy returned to Iron River. Carol was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Iron River. She and LeRoy enjoyed going to baseball and football games. She also liked to travel, go to the casino and in her younger years go bowling.

Carol is survived by her sister, Lois (Russell) Kopidlansky of De Pere, WI; sister-in-law, Lucille LaFountain of Iron River, MI; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

She was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Richard, and Jack LaFountain; sister, Kay Wester; brother-in-law, James Wester; and sister-in-law, Donna LaFountain.

Services will be held at a later date.

Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River, MI.
