Carol J. Stapleton

Carol J. Stapleton, age 79, of Nelma, WI, passed away on Thursday, August 30, 2018 at her home. She was born on March 19, 1939 in Alpha, MI; the daughter of the late William and Jessie Gollakner. She attended the Stambaugh Schools. Carol married Arnold Stapleton on June 8, 1957 in Stambaugh, MI. The couple celebrated 61 wonderful years together this summer. She was employed as an assembler at Coleman Products for over ten years. She was a member of the Little White Church of Alvin, the Women’s Club, and volunteer for the Alvin Fire Dept. She enjoyed life to the fullest, with some of her hobbies including: camping, fishing, crafts, crocheting and playing dominos with the ladies. She delighted in spending quality time with her family, especially playing games with her grandchildren.   Carol is survived by her husband, Arnold; sons, Bruce (Sharon) Stapleton and Dennis (Tammi) Stapleton, daughters, Sandy and Shelly Stapleton, all of Nelma, WI; grandchildren, Derek (Christine) Stapleton, Kylie (Darryl) Stapleton, James (Loren) Stapleton, Tya Stapleton, Samantha Tarsi, Caleb Tarsi and Courtney Davister; great grandchildren, Gavin, Ava, Olivia, Rudy, Chase and a future great grandson (yet to be born); brother, Gary (Jeanie) Gollakner of Ontonagon, MI; many nieces, nephews, special friends and extended family. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Richard, William “Sonny”, and Eugene Gollakner; sisters: Shirley Matherly and infant sister, Valeria, as well as a grandson, Justin Latilla. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, September 2, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the Little White Church in Alvin, WI, with Pastor Della Rosenow to officiate.
