Carole M. Widas

Carole M. Widas, 91, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2024. She was born on December 30, 1932, in Mineral Hills, MI, daughter of the late Aldrick Anderson and Eloise (Williams) Anderson Salo. She attended the Iron River Schools, graduating with the class of 1951. Carole married Frank Widas Jr. on December 13, 1952, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Iron River. The couple celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary in 2011. Frank preceded her in death on March 23, 2012. She was employed by Dr. L.E. Irvine, Dr. Russell Retallack, and Dr. James Nora over the years. She was also a sales consultant at Selin’s Furniture. Carole was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Caspian, MI. She enjoyed gardening, being outdoors, and spending time with her family. Carole is survived by her daughters, Debbie (Doug) Brey of Caspian, MI and Donna (Glenn) Dobson of Iron River, MI; sister, Mary Jane (David) Scalcucci; grandchildren, Angie (Mike) Greenlund, Lisa (Joe) Lewis, Jenna Dobson, and Jake Dobson; great-grandchildren, Nick, Tyler, and Kyle Greenlund, Caiden and Ariah Lewis, Jaiden Dobson, Jaebrion Norton, and Jaxxson Dunn; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Cameron Lewis; brother, Robert Anderson; sister and brother-in-law, Eloise and Lester Manfrom; sister-in-law, Mary Carne; nieces, Corrine Cox and Janice Westman; and stepfather, Arthur Salo.
