Catherine J. Eskildsen

Catherine J. Eskildsen, 95, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the Iron River Care Center. She was born on January 8, 1930, in Norway, MI, the daughter of the late Max and Mabel (Martell) Pancheri. She attended the Stambaugh Schools, graduating from Stambaugh High School with the class of 1947. Catherine married Elmer Eskildsen on December 27, 1952, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI. The couple celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in 2005. Elmer preceded her in death on December 18, 2006. She was employed as an administrative assistant at Coleman Products. Catherine was a member of the Italian Ladies Society and a former member of the Lady Elks. She loved bowling, playing bingo and cards, watching the Green Bay Packers, and spending time with her family. “Cata” will be remembered for her wit, a great sense of humor, a manic passion for playing cards, and an irrepressible love of life. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Kay (Don Shultz) Eskildsen of Fountain Hills, AZ; son, Kurt (Cheryl) Eskildsen of Oak Harbor, WA; grandson, Casey Eskildsen; nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Faye Ellen Eskildsen; brother, Gerald Pancheri; and sister, Shirley Hintz. A celebration of Catherine’s life will be held at a later date.
