Catherine A. Palmeri

Catherine A. Palmeri, 79, went to be with her loved ones in her heavenly home on Feb. 22, 2020 in Grand Rapids, MI. She was born April 8, 1940, in Stambaugh, daughter of the late Michael and Mary (Pavlik) Stasaski. She graduated from Iron River High School in 1958. At the school she was known for her faithful service as secretary under Principal Harry Monson. She enjoyed shopping for her grandchildren and loved to decorate her gift packages with stickers. Catherine married James Leo Palmeri on Aug. 15, 1959, at the Assumption Church in Iron River. She enjoyed doing charity work with her husband for the Sons of Italy. She also served as administrative assistant to the director of Goodwill Industries in Grand Rapids where she continued her charity work and reached out to help groups like Agency for the Blind. She is survived by her husband, James of Grand Rapids; her sisters, Stella Stutsman of Rockford, Ill., and Mary Ebner of Milwaukee; her son, Allen (Susan) Palmeri of Jefferson City, MO.; her son, Mark (Michelle) Palmeri of Franklin, TN; seven grandchildren, Amy, Asa, David and Sophia of Jefferson City, MO and Andrew, Sky and Erica of Franklin, TN; and one great-grandchild, Ashlynd, of Franklin, TN. She was preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mary; her sister, Helen; and her brothers, Edward, John, Louis, and Carl. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery in the spring.
