Catherine J. Vignali

Catherine J. Vignali, age 93, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at the Iron River Care Center. She was born on November 25, 1928, in Merrill, WI, the daughter of the late Michael and Josephine (Jablonski) Myszka. Catherine married Leo Vignali on January 16, 1945, in Merrill, WI. The couple made their home and raised their family in Phelps, WI and celebrated their 32nd wedding anniversary in 1977. She was employed at the Phelps Co-op for over 10 years, supervisor at Phelps Hospital over 10 years, and Aramark in Caspian for 16 years. Catherine was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI. She loved the Church and was the Sacristan for St. Cecilia for 25 years. She enjoyed working in her yard and tending to her flowers and garden. Her children and grandchildren were her life. Catherine is survived her daughters, Susan Ehrich of Surprise, AZ, Linda (Eric) Deksnis of Fond du Lac, WI, Deb Ketchum of Caspian, MI, and Kim Sagen of Wausau, WI; eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo Vignali; son, Daniel; brothers, George, Frank, John, Paul, Don, Dave, and Richard; and sisters, Lenore, Joan, Irene, and Margaret. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 14, 2022, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Caspian, MI with Rev. Jose Cherian to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Phelps Cemetery, Phelps, WI.
