Cecilia M. Colberg

Cecilia “Snooky” M. Colberg, age 96, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the Iron River Care Center. She was born on May 30, 1925, in Stambaugh, MI, the daughter of the late Jacob and Margaret (Wagner) Flaschberger. She attended and graduated from the Stambaugh Schools. Cecilia married Melvin W. Colberg on February 15, 1947, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. Melvin preceded her in death on February 6, 1976. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church of Iron River and the Alter Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed flower gardening, Bingo, playing cards, and eating hamburgers with lots of onions. She is survived by two sons, Rick (Gail) Colberg of Green Bay, WI and Terry (LeeAnn) Colberg of Rapid River, MI; five grandchildren; two great grandchildren; special niece, Sharon Gagnea of Iron River, MI; nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Jack, Leo, George, and Joe Flaschberger and four sisters, Anne Dorow, Rose Vranes, Margaret Puskala, and Florence Soderbloom. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Northwoods Animal Shelter in Iron River.
