Charles “Chuck” C. Isaacson, age 74, of Houghton, MI, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016. Born September 4, 1941 in Chicago, IL, Chuck was the son of the late Carl C. and Elvera (Lindbloom) Isaacson. He attended the Melbourne High School in Florida, graduating with the Class of 1959. He later attended Northern Michigan University, Marquette, MI. He was employed at Michigan Technological University, Houghton, MI, for over 25 years, retiring in 2000. Charles married the former Ruby Lindahl on June 19, 1965 in Stambaugh, MI. The couple celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 2015. Chuck spent most summers at Hagerman Lake and attended Grace Covenant Church. He was a member of the Houghton City Council and Houghton Board of Review. He enjoyed volunteer work for the Copper Country Kiwanis, especially the “Nail Benders”, building handicap accessible ramps. He loved the water, and enjoyed traveling, working on computers, and sudoko puzzles. Chuck is survived by his wife, Ruby; sons, Erik (Moira) of Port Huron, MI, and Cliff (Jackie) of Peachtree City, GA; four grandchildren, Curtis, Scott, Clark, and Luke; nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Kermit, Milford, and John Isaacson. Visitation will be held Friday, January 22, 1016 from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m., with Rev. James Swanson II to officiate. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery in the spring.
