Charles A. Schive

Charles ""Chuck"" Almen Schive died peacefully on August 10, 2008 at the Iron River Care Center after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 29, 1939 to Almen and Impi (Maki) Schive in Stambaugh, MI. He graduated from the Iron River High School in 1958. He attended Stout State College in Menomonie, WI graduating in 1962 with a BA in Industrial Education. He taught industrial education/building construction in Clintonville, WI. He returned to Iron River and taught industrial education/building trades. He initiated the building program to replace the cabins at the Iron County Youth Camp. He owned and operated Chuck's Sport Shop and then Chuck's Carpet Cleaning until he retired. He was member of the Grace Covenant Church, AA, and Elks Lodge #1671. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, motorcycling, and was an avid Green Bay Packers and Cubs fan. He is survived by his daughter Lynn (Melvin) Aho, a son, Dan (Jennifer) Schive, and their mother, JoAnne (Hammar) Schive. He is also survived by three granddaughters; Jessica, Allie, and Kristi, a grandson, Brandon, and a nephew, Steve Schive. He also leaves behind his special companion, his dog, Buddy. Visitation: Wednesday, August 13, 2008 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church, Iron River. Funeral Services: Wednesday, August 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the Grace Covenant Church, Iron River with Rev. Matthew Norlen to officiate.
