Clarence “Bucko” W. LaRoux, age 84, of Iron River, MI, passed away Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, after a lengthy illness of Alzheimer’s. He was born October 10, 1932 in Stambaugh, MI, the son of the late Phillip and Violet (Cocking) LaRoux. He attended the Iron River Schools, graduating from Iron River High School. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Clarence married the former Doris (Landry) Bossenberger on July 5, 1979 in Iron River, and the couple made their home at Camp Lake. They celebrated 38th wedding anniversary this summer. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and VFW Ottawa Post #3134 and American Legion Post. He was a carpenter, electrician, and all around handy man who enjoyed making something out of nothing. Clarence is survived by his wife, Doris; son, Jeffrey (Emelie) LaRoux of Monroe, MI; daughters, Joann Burke of Monroe, MI, and Dawn LaVanway of East Jordan, MI; step-daughter, Paula (Norlyn) Hanson of Watertown, SD; brother, Phillip (Maxine) LaRoux of Arizona; sisters, Pearl Marthinowski of Scottsdale, AZ, and Marcella Davis of Titusville, FL; grandchildren, Lydia and Kahra; step-grandchildren, Amy Peterson, Angela Allen, Ashlee Norgaard, Alfred Bossenberger, Jr. and Melissa Bossenberger; nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Alfred G. Bossenberger II. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017 from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dawn Robbins to officiate. A special thank you to all of the pall bearers; Reg Raymond, Steve Raymond, Fred Raether, Jim Masse, John Venturato and Norlyn Hanson. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery and the West Side Veterans will accord Military Rites at the graveside.
