Clarence ""Tom"" W. Thomas Age 95 Iron River, MIDied Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at his home. Born: February 12, 1916 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada The son of the late William P. and Florence M. (Castle) Thomas was married to Patricia Ann Coutu on October 3, 1942 at Ft. Brady in Sault Ste. Marie, MI. Tom served during WWII and was awarded three purple hearts! He was an accountant for many years at Dow Chemical in Midland, Mi. He enjoyed gardening, but his greatest joy was serving his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ. While living in Midland, he and Patricia began a ministry for young people called The Open Door. Upon retirement, they traveled in a motor home ministry named ""Glory Wheels"". In the early 1980s they began a new Open Door Youth Outreach in Iron River--a ministry that continues to this day. He was preceded in death by his brother Ewart Thomas and three sisters, Winifred Reddy, Evelyn Lundell and Edna Stutzel, and beloved grandson Travis Thomas. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Son, Stanley (Barbara) Thomas of Iron River Daughters, Diane (Leo) Dilling of Lusby, MD JoAnn (Owen) Schular of Kawkawlin, MI 12 grandchildren 7 great grandchildren Nieces, nephews and extended family Visitation: Monday, November 14, 2011 from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at The Open Door, Iron River Funeral Service: Monday, November 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. at The Open Door, Iron River, with Trenton Thomas to officiate.
