Colleen M. Deroche

Colleen M. DeRoche, 86, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Aspirus Iron River Hospital. She was born on May 23, 1938, in Crystal Falls, MI, the daughter of the late Josephine Skrzyniarz. Colleen attended the Alpha Schools, graduating from Alpha High School with the class of 1956. She graduated from Badger Business College in Green Bay, WI in 1957. She was employed as a bookkeeper with DICSA for several years. Colleen was a member of St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Kingsford, MI. She enjoyed reading, sewing, visiting friends she’d known for decades, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Colleen was an extraordinarily kind-hearted and sociable person. She never met a stranger. She also loved animals and nature shows. Colleen was a devoted mother and grandmother, whose love was cherished by her entire family. Colleen is survived by her son, Jerome DeRoche of Gaastra, MI; daughter, Monet DeRoche Dotson of Marquette, MI; grandchildren, Shannon Willis, Xavier Compton, Paige Dotson, and Drake Dotson; great-grandchildren, Sierra Hooper and Aubrey Willis; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
