Constance “Connie” M. Stella, age 94, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Friday, June 8, 2018 at the Aspirus Iron River Hospital. Connie was born October 5, 1923 in Catanzaro, Italy; the daughter of the late Paul and Carmela (Folino) Mangone. She attended and graduated from the Stambaugh Schools. She was employed as a bar maid for 60 years. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the Alter Society, and the Italian Ladies Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Reino Post #21 Auxiliary. She enjoyed working on the Election Board, playing bingo, and going to the casino. Connie is survived by her sons, Jim Stella of Iron River and John Stella of Kinsley, KS; daughters, Susie (Ron) Kriehn of Waukesha, WI and Patricia Taylor of Iron River, MI; brother, Dave (Phylliss) Mangone of Iron River; sisters, Rose Johnson of Iron River and Genevieve Czaplewski of West Allis, WI; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Stella; brothers, Danny and Michael Mangone and sisters, Violet Groppi and Antoinette Jacobson. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 9:00 to 10:45 am at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the St. Agnes Catholic Church with Rev. Gregory Veneklase to offer the Mass of Christian Burial. The Italian Ladies Society will form an Honor Guard at the service. Interment will be in Stambaugh Cemetery.
