Dale C. Keliin, 73, of Caspian, MI, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at his home with his children at his side.
He was born on October 20, 1952, in Stambaugh, MI. Dale graduated from West Iron County High School Class of 1971. He then graduated from Bay de Noc Community College with a degree in electronics. In his early years he worked at the TV repair shop, the local mines, the Iron County Road Commission, and as an electrician. He even bartended at the Bowling Alley Disco.
Dale lived a life of perseverance, compassion for others, and maintained a great attitude no matter what obstacles were in his way. In 1984 he was involved in a jeep accident paralyzing him from the waist down, but he kept his spirits up. Before his accident he was an excellent bowler. Playing pool later became his passion, competing all over the country playing wheelchair and regular pool tournaments winning many titles and championships. He lived a life of kindness as a loving father who was always there for his children and would go out of his way to help anyone in need, even strangers. Though Dale sometimes needed help himself he took care of his mother at his residence for numerous years. He sponsored so many children in need through charity organizations that you could barely see his bedroom mirror with all their photos attached.
Storytelling was another gift shared with anyone in his presence. If you knew Dale you have likely heard a story or two, some with a twinkle in his eye. Dale lived a life that set an example for how to treat your fellow neighbor, as well as yourself, regardless of what the universe has planned for you.
Dale is the son of the late Carl and Josephine (Bastianello) Keliin. He is survived by his son Dusty (Danielle) Keliin of South Range, WI; daughter Dana (Craig Stevens) Keliin of Pinewood, MN; grandchildren Brayleigh Keliin and Mia and Cal Stevens; great grandsons Kingston Keliin-Carter and Reign Jackson; brothers Brian Keliin of Iron River, MI and Carl (Karen) Keliin of Houston, TX; sisters Coletta (Bob) Bobnock of Caspian, MI, Karen (Tony) Bongi of Iron River, MI, and Debbie (Ken) Zanon of Iron River, MI; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. A Liturgy of the Word Service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Fosu to officiate.
